トロント経由でシカゴに着きました．今日はOpening Ceremonyとレセプションのみ．私は着くのが遅かったのでOpening Ceremonyは出れませんでしたが，そこで各賞の発表があったようです．以下報告します．

• 数理計画に大きなインパクトを与えた個人に贈られるDantzig賞はGerard Cornuejolsに贈られました．
• 数理計画分野において優秀な博士論文を書いた個人に贈られるTucker賞はMohit Singhに贈られました．他のファイナリストはTobias AchterbergとJiawang Nieでした．
• 連続最適化の分野における優秀な論文に贈られるLagrange賞はJean Lasserreの「A sum of squares approximation of nonnegative polynomials」(SIAM J Optim 16 (2006) 751-765) に贈られました．
• 数理計画計算の分野における優秀な論文に贈られるBeale-Orchard-Hays賞はTobias Achterbergの「SCIP: Solving constrained integer programs」(Math Prog Comput 1 (2009) 1-41) に贈られました．
• 離散数学における優秀な論文に贈られるFulkerson賞は次の3つの研究に贈られました．
  • Maria Chudnovsky, Neil Robertson, Paul Seymour, Robin Thomasの「The strong perfect graph theorem」(Ann Math 164 (2006) 51-229)
  • Daniel Spielman, Shang-Hua Tengの「Smoothed Analysis of Algorithms: Why the simplex algorithm usually takes polynomial time」(J ACM 51 (2004) 385-463)
  • Thomas Halesの「A proof of the Kepler conjecture」(Ann Math 162 (2005) 1063-1183) とSamuel Fergusonの「Sphere packings, V. Pentahedral prisms」(Discr Comput Geom 33 (2006) 167-204)
